ABSTRACT

The work introduced in this paper aims at computer-based observation and control of the amount of a physical phenomenon. Although the paper concentrates on the measurement and control of temperature, the technique developed can be applied to other physical quantities such as velocity, pressure, intensity (of light), etc. The device constructed connects to one of the computer's expansion slots which provide access to the computer's address and data buses as well as various control lines.
