Abstract

The aim of this study is to emphasise the role of colour in ergonomics which is a field searching the natural and technical rules of relationships of the human, objects he uses and the environment he is in. Colour is taken in the context of pscyhological effects and perception and the applications in various design fields. It is pointed out that colour is a pschyo-sociological factor that is effective in perception, attention, precaution, motivation, comminication, innovation, creativity and productivity. As a result, Colour is important as an ergonomic factor, to improve the working conditions and to get harmonious relationship between the man and his environment. Colour is a differentiating factor in signs and controls of machines. Colour affects productivity, effectivity, motivation, pracaution for the accidents, feeling of comfort and hygiene and creates the social atmosphere in working places.
