Abstract

In this study, a web-based, e-purchasing application has been developed that works for underbidding actions. The objective in this study is that; any company which uses this software will be enabled to have a purchasing process that is easier, faster and more profitable than the traditional purchase method, and shall also gain a more transparent structure regarding the relevant business processes. The use of this new software aims to increase profitability as well as decrease purchasing costs without compromising quality. This yields to; shortening traditional purchasing processes, gaining some additional spare time, optimising the decision-making mechanisms and processes, increasing the effectiveness of supplier management activities, becoming transparent, reducing operational costs and most importantly, providing great cost advantages in orders and purchases (by creating a dynamic and highly competitive environment) Purchasing processes are becoming more and more important for public and private sector, and if they are effectively executed, institutions / businesses could have great advantages. The application in this project has been developed by using the ASP.NET environment, which is one of the state of the art software platforms. In this project, C # programming language and Microsoft SQL Server database system are also used.
