Abstract

For long years, many histarical churches and auditoriums had been studi ed from the view of acoustical properties in the USA and in Europe. Criteria had been obtained to be u sed on the construction of these places. Yet, studies on acoustics hadn' t been done sufficiently in our country. In this study, Muradiye mosque ( Edirne ), having the properties of a mosque with inverse T form in architectural style, was supposed to have interesting properties in acoustics and its properties were studied. To this aim, the sound pressure level, sound pressure distribution and speech intelligibility scores were studied in the mosque.
